It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her bow and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
