Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
